Provenance: made for the 1962 International H. Wieniawski Violin Competition in Poznań; obtained on 30 May 1962

Description: Stradivari’s model (Sancy – 1713): vaults, f-holes and scroll in Stradivari style; two-piece spruce belly, one-piece flame sycamore back; wonderful tonewood; thick spirit varnish in cherry shades; maintained by A. Karolkowski (1964) and E. Gosiewski (1967); placed equal first at the 1962 International H. Wieniawski Violin Making Competition in Poznań with the instrument of Vladimir Pilař (at the time it was the highest prize awarded in the history of Wieniawski competition as in 1957 when the contest was inaugurated First Prize was not awarded)
